NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS) PROGRAMS
Since its inception in 2005, the National Service Scheme (NSS) has been an integral part of our college's commitment to community welfare. Students actively engage in a range of impactful activities focused on health awareness and education, including rallies promoting health awareness, encompassing vital topics such as diabetes, AIDS.

Students actively engage in a range of impactful activities focused on health awareness and education, including rallies promoting health awareness, encompassing vital topics such as diabetes, AIDS, anaemia prevention, and pulse polio campaigns and health education programmes at the community level, using innovative methods like role-playing and demonstrations. Guiding this noble endeavour is Mrs. Anitha Rani M R, who serves as the NSS Programme Officer. Under her guidance, our students contribute to the betterment of society while gaining valuable insights and experiences that extend beyond the classroom.

RV College of nursing organized an awareness programme on vaccination at Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Hospital in view of National vaccination Day which is observed on 16th march every year. Total 20 mothers were the part of educational session. The session was organized in NICU mother’s room at Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Hospital. The mothers were enlighted with the neccessary information regarding before, during and after care of vaccination for the babies.
The NSS Unit of R V College of Nursing actively participated in awareness walkathon in view of Lok Sabha Election 2024 held at Lalbagh Botanical Garden Main Gate organized by State NSS Cell in association with District SVEEP committee and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science on 19th April 2024 at 7am.
NSS activities in 2023 focused on raising awareness about health issues that impact children and young adults. It also brought attention to issues about national vaccination and cancer treatment. NSS volunteers also interacted with the Honourable Chief Minister of Assam – Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

NSS volunteers conducted health & awareness camps for prevention of malaria, treatment of anaemia and the benefits of yoga, amongst other initiatives. They also held seminars and workshops to explore social and behavioural change in communities to avail the benefits of health and nutrition services.
RV College of Nursing in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and in partnership with UNICEF, organized an inauguration program on 26/04/22 at DAPM RV Dental college Auditorium on “Engagement of NSS Volunteers for Social & Behavior Change among the communities to avail Health & Nutrition Services

Our volunteers engaged with schools and welfare centres across Bengaluru to spread awareness about the importance of mental health and overall health, aided by yoga. They also addressed the importance of nutrition in maintaining a healthy and balanced life and campaigned against the use of tobacco to prevent health issues across communities.
